It seems like a wolf can strike one of his own in the pack.

In a series of online comments on Twitter, Alex Miraz, co-star of Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) in the ‘Twilight’ sequel, New Moon, stated his dislike over the casting of Lautner’s new movie  ‘Valentine’s Day’. He remarks that the movie is an outright profiteering scheme for Hollywood producers by making a star-studded movie just to get the cash box super rolling for the love month.

On his page at Twitter.com last February 4, 2010, Meraz wrote: “Sorry Taylor but the movie Valentine’s Day looks lame and desperate. It cries out, ‘look we have all the biggest starz in 1 movie pleez (sic) watch!” He adds further: “P.S. it has nothing to do with the talented actors in the movie. I just don’t like the producer & Director’s ‘get rich quick skeem’ (sic) nuff (enough) said.

In his latter comments, Meraz showed some heart (perhaps for fear of causing greater controversy and risking his newly started career) got his words back and promised not to show the same outbursts in the future. He admits to being careful next time, but still he added, “Talk about biting the hand that feeds me…but I’m a wolf for crying out loud! I’ll be careful next time I spill twitter all over everyone.”

Alex Miraz portrayed the role of the hot-tempered man-wolf, Paul, in the movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s New Moon. He is of Mexican descent, particularly from the P’urhépecha people.

He was first seen in the movie, The New World (2005), in which he portrayed the role of a core warrior.  As a martial artist, he displayed his fighting skills in portraying a warrior in We Shall Remain (2009), and as a warrior again in The American Express (2009).

Being relatively new to Hollywood’s limelight, he was met with mixed criticisms over his recent comment regarding the movie, Valentine’s Day. Commentators and reporters buzzed over his Twitter comments claiming him to be sour graping or just plain sore over his co-star’s new-found celebrity status.

Taylor Lautner plays big in the movie Valentine’s Day, a romantic comedy that stars Hollywood’s topbillers Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Alba. Of course, Lautner’s ex-girlfriend, TaylorTaylor Swift, is in it, no less.

We will either cross our fingers for Meraz or simply bask in the love that will surely be in the air, whether we like it or not, as we watch Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day.
